2Great TV but only lasted 16 months  Jan 22, 2010
We bought this tv 16 months ago and have totally loved it. However, while watching it, it totally quit working about a week ago. It made this zap sound and cut off and had absolutely no power at all. My husband seems to think it's the power supply, however, we have to pay $75.00 for a service call just to get them to come get it and then to diagnose it will be even more. It looks like a power supply is anywhere from 175.00 to $300.00 plus labor I would assume. We are dealing with our local store (JEFF LYNCH) and even though this is the second big screen TV we have purchased and also all of our kitchen appliances, they do not seem overly concerned at all. We've dealt with the same sales person for every purchase but yet he still isn't going to go above and beyond to help us. Overall, it's just disappointing, for what these TVs cost, you would expect them to last longer than one year.

*****UPDATE.....it was the power supply....and $300.00 later, we have the tv back in working condition. :/

Just recieved this item 2 days ago. Hookup was easy. Works awesome!! I just upgraded to a plasma after talking with many people at best buy and looking through the reviews on amazon. Will be getting a blu ray player in a few days and getting the upgrade to HDMI for cable. Now I have the composite hookup through comcast. The picture is awesome. Watched Monday night football like I had never seen it before. Definitely worth the money.

The sound seems really good. I am used to the big speaks so I am a little skeptical. Will add to this review if my option changes!!!

5Love it, Love it, Love it  Aug 18, 2009
I bought this tv to replace my Toshiba 46" LCD 1080p. I really did like my Toshiba but there is no comparison between the two. I was a little hesitant at first due to all the rumors you here about plasma tv's but after I did my research I found most of them to be false. The picture is amazing! The setup and operation is fairly easy also. At the store I did notice the settings on the plasma tv were set to make them look darker than the LCD's. This plasma has a Vivid picture setting that brightens the picture and improves the color. I have my tv wall mounted in our family room which has 3 large windows and I do not have a problem with glare. I am not an expert by far, but I will say if you decide to buy this tv you will not be disappointed. I was so happy with LG I went back and bought one for my bedroom, not as big though. Hope this helps. Thanks

5Very nice set for the money...  Aug 17, 2009
Picked this up at a local electronics store yesterday. Brought it home, installed it myself and it is a beauty. Blacks are black, THX Certified, controls are easy to use, sound is good and it is pleasing to the eye. Keep your eyes peeled for sales as folks are NOT buying plasma TVs (our gain) so you can get a great deal on one if you look around. I am very pleased with this television.

4This is a great TV  Mar 30, 2009
I bought this TV about 3 months ago after much reseach. Amazon did not have the best price and after a phone call to customer service they refused to price match. Not my lose since I purchased it anyway and had an amazing delivery for $49.00 which including wall mounting! This is not my first plasma and I have also owned LCDs. At first I was nervous about purchasing this set since I know very little about LG except in the way of cell phones. \ Basically the set is great and I have no compliants about picture or sound. It is very sleek and looks great even when you are not using it. Everyone who gets to see it in action loves it! As for LG, I have also purchased a 37" LG LCD for my bedroom. I love the auto on and off feature I have on both tvs. It makes it very easy to program for different room to light up like someones home when away. Maybe there is a reason they now use this brand in the Orlando airport.

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!

Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)

The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)

"
Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."

Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
