 Great Picture ..but the Mount is Scary Flimsy Sep 04, 2010
Had this Puppy out of the box, base mounted and channels programmed in 22min. 38sec.! Beautiful Picture, just like my Samsung 50" Plasma purchased last year.
Much-Much better picture than the piece of carp Panasonic Viera, also bought last year.
My only concern is the base, the TV rocks back and forth on the central pivot point when you walk past it (our floor gives a little).
And....the Damn Base does not Swivel! That really bummed me out, especially for a larger unit such as this one!
I would have given it a four-star rating, but the picture is sooooo good!

 Horrible buzzing, but great picture Jul 30, 2010
We purchased this TV and it had a really loud and inappropriate buzzing sound so we exchanged it for another one (same model). The replacement turned out to be defective as well, but this time we're too lazy to return it and we're just learning to live with the buzzing. Some of our friends have plasma TVs and they agree that the buzzing from this TV is not normal.
However, the picture quality is awesome, way better than we were expecting!
P.S. the screws for the base were the wrong screws the first time around. That was annoying.

I COULD NOT WAIT TO GET THIS TV SET UP!
BUT I HAD TO WAIT BECAUSE WE WERE PAINTING THE LIVING ROOM.
ONCE WE GOT IT OUT OF THE BOX,AND HOOKED IT UP,THE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS APPEARED RIGHT ON THE SCREEN IT DOWNLOADS JUST LIKE COMPUTER!

Overall I think this is a good tv, but the buzzing is unbelievably annoying. I had heard that plasma's have a buzz to them, but this is crazy loud. Any time I switch channels the pause while the new channel comes up you can here it. Likewise when quiet scenes come on.
For the great price I'd buy it again, but at full price I'd probably consider a non-plasma.

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
