 Great Plasma TV for the $$ Feb 14, 2010
I bought this TV back in December from another retailer. I see now that it is out of stock but if they do bring these back you really can't go wrong being sub 800$. It has an outstanding picture with great color and deep rich blacks. It's not a Pioneer Kuro but for 1/4 the price I wouldn't bother with a Kuro unless you really have unlimited funds or just want the best :). The bezel it a little wide and I think that is why Samsung has discontinued this model but it is still thin at 2.75". I love the red glass bezel on the bottom. It is very discrete and not as intrusive as the whole frame being tinted red. I would like the SAMSUNG label to be removed or tinted so it is discrete. My brother got an LN46B630 but it's bottom bezel is almost Tacky as it looks like Jay Leno's chin. Like I said if you want the best bang for your buck this is it!!
Great tv at a great price Feb 08, 2010
This is a great tv set (50 inch plasma). Super quick shipping as we ordered on a Monday before Thanksgiving and received it on Wednesday (just 2 days from order to delivery at our door). Got a great price on this 1080p set directly from Azamon at just $899, including free delivery. The picture looks fantastic for the price. We also have a PS3 hooked up to it and it matches up nicely. There does tend to be burn in when playing games but it quickly goes away with the burn in protection setting, so no real issue with burn in.

Bought this for the $899 price and love it. It's not hugely feature rich - no pip -but it has a great picture as seems to be of a high build quality. The Amazon delivery was great. It actually showed up before some BluRays that I ordered at the same time. They set it up on the stand and were out the door in minutes.
One thing I will say is that non-HD TV (480, 720p) doesn't look great given the size of the TV and the fact I have it in a small room so you are right on top of it. That would not at all stop me from purchasing again as most of what I watch is BluRay or HD TV. Two things - 1) Don't get this if you are placing in a room where there is a window or other light source behind where you are watching - too much reflection. 2) I have noticed some temp burn-in if there is a BluRay menu up for too long, but it fades rather quickly, and there are some setting that can be adjusted to minimize.
Over all I would highly recommend this TV if you are using high-def sources and especially if you are finishing a basement (dark environment). The price is right.

Overall a good experience. Came in on the last day of estimation for shipping. Kinda expected it sooner after seeing reviews but hey, it was Christmas. No problems with the product at all. Good experience. Would use again.
Everything I wanted Feb 01, 2010
This TV had everything I wanted with a little more that made life easier for me. It had everything in the stated descriptions on the website but the little extra was that it had a system that let me use the same remote that came with the blue ray player that was also Samsung. They work together very nicely and it looks great at the end of the bed.

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
